ITALO DISCO, DOMINIO DOS ANOS 80.

Italo Disco é um termo musical de marketing introduzido em 1983 por Bernhard Mikulski, o fundador da gravadora ZYX Music. Era utilizado para definir a dance music eletrônica italiana da década de 1980, mas em muitos casos era empregado como sinônimo para a "Euro Disco dos anos 80". Uma canção tipicamente “italo-disco” era essencialmente feita com sintetizadores e cantada em inglês pelos artistas italianos. A música dance eletrônica começou a se desenvolver no final da década de 1970 quando bandas tradicionalmente de ritmo disco passaram a experimentar sintetizadores e outros efeitos eletrônicos em suas músicas. Essa primeira forma de dance eletrônico foi extra-oficialmente chamada de “space disco”, pelo fato das músicas possuírem sons obscuros e um ar de ficção científica. Uma das principais influências durante este período foi o produtor Giorgio Moroder.
